
Andy Cooney
Investment Committee, Specialty Finance
Andy Cooney serves on the Investment Committee for Revere’s Specialty Finance team. He has in excess of 30 years of financial advisory, investment banking and asset management experience. For the past 10 years, Mr. Cooney has focused on the specialty finance sector, providing both advisory and portfolio analytics services to a variety of non-bank lenders across multiple asset classes. Andy served as Chief Financial Officer and a Principal at Four Corners Capital Management, LLC for 8 years, until its acquisition by the Macquarie Group. As CFO, Mr. Cooney was responsible for designing and implementing fund strategies in concert with various US and international investment clients of the firm and executed 14 different funds totaling in excess of $7 billion.
Prior to his role at Four Corners, Andy was a Managing Director at First Union Capital Markets (a predecessor to Wells Fargo Securities), where he was responsible for the Emerging Assets Securitization Group, which focused on applying securitization techniques to new asset classes. While at the firm, his group executed securitizations across a broad array of asset classes including tax liens, student loans, and franchise loans. In addition, the firm became a leading investment bank in the collateralized loan obligation (“CLO”) asset class. Prior to that, Mr. Cooney was a Director at Banc of America Securities in the asset securitization group and served as Chief Financial Officer for ProCredit, a subprime automobile finance company. In all, Mr. Cooney has been responsible for the structuring and execution of more than $17 billion of financings and investment funds as both a banker and as a principal. Mr. Cooney is a graduate of Washington and Lee University and the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University (MBA).
